Argentina v Saudi Arabia, Denmark v Tunisia, Mexico v Poland, & France v Australia

Here’s our set of pre-match bet recommendations for Argentina vs Saudi Arabia, Denmark vs Tunisia, Mexico vs Poland, and France vs Australia.

Picks

Argentina

On Tuesday, Argentina faces Saudi Arabia in their opening Group C match, and all eyes will be on Lionel Messi in his farewell World Cup appearance. The Argentines have a three-year unbeaten streak coming into Qatar, so they are heavy favorites to make an immediate impact and take control of a very easy group.

It’s important to remember that Messi isn’t Argentina’s sole star player; Lautaro Martinez, his striking partner, is also a formidable opponent. The star of Inter Milan scored for Argentina against Italy, and he has already scored seven times in Serie A this season.

Saudi Arabia

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia plays what will likely be the tournament’s toughest opening game. Messi’s effect will likely be a primary target of the Saudi Arabians’ game plan. Defenses will be focused on the Argentine star, which should open up space for Martinez to cause some damage inside the penalty area.

Few think the match against Argentina, a squad with legitimate hopes of hoisting the trophy next month, is an opportunity for 3 points, but Herve Renard and his players see it as an opportunity to demonstrate how far the Green Falcons have gone.

Denmark

Christian Eriksen, Denmark’s standout midfielder, will be counted on extensively. The 30-year-old had played in the middle position for the national team so often that he had been capped 100 times. For the Danes, however, he is not the only player who has the potential to set the streets of Copenhagen ablaze with celebration.

Cologne’s Ellyes Shkiri of Bundelisga is a terrific midfield acquisition, and Simon Kjaer, Pierre-Emile Hojberg, and Andreas Christiansen all contribute strongly to the defense. It would be a shame to miss these talents if not for our World Cup 2022 livestream that would let you catch them in action for free.

Tunisia

There isn’t quite the same level of tradition in Tunisia as there is in Europe. The Eagles of Carthage have appeared in five previous World Cup tournaments but have never advanced to the knockout round.

In the opening encounter of the 2018 World Cup in Volgograd, Russia, England faced Tunisia in Group G. The match ended in a tie only because of a miracle goal scored by Harry Kane in stoppage time. The loss, 2-1, was due in part to a penalty kick goal scored by Tunisia.

Mexico

After qualifying for the World Cup, Mexico manager Tata Martino and his players have experienced a tumultuous run in 2022. Four of the team’s last 10 matches have ended in a loss, and those losses include World Cup matchups against Uruguay and Ecuador.

The absence of a primary goal threat has been a major problem for Mexico. Wolves forward Raul Jimenez returned from an injury that had kept him out for months on Wednesday, playing in the second half of a 2-1 friendly loss to Sweden.

Poland

It’s obvious who Poland’s goal scorers are. It’s safe to say that the entire Mexican defense will be keeping a close eye on Robert Lewandowski. His 76 goals are the most ever scored by a Polish player, and the Barcelona striker is a physical force who can score on the ground or in the air.

Piotr Zielinski’s job is to track down Lewandowski. The Napoli midfielder has been excellent this season, contributing to the team’s success with six goals and seven assists. Against Mexico, who were opened by Sweden midweek and have consistently struggled at the back, he should have some room to move and create opportunities.

France

Despite a spate of recent injuries, the French camp must be feeling better as they anticipate Mbappe’s encore performance at the WorldCup22 in Qatar.

There is no more terrifying sight for defenders than Mbappe in peak form, what with his important contributions in France’s run to the UEFA Nations League triumph last year and his red-hot opening to this season with PSG.

France will rely heavily on Mbappe’s mobility and goal-scoring prowess as they make big alterations in the midfield to compensate for the loss of N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba to injury.

With little room for error, the team’s A-listers must step up. France is among the top nations with the best World Cup betting odds 2022 at 7.00, only behind Brazil with 5.50.

Australia

Since Australian center-backs Harry Souttar and Kye Rowles have both recently returned from injury layoffs, Mbappe should get off to a flying start against a vulnerable Australian defense. If Graham Arnold determines that either starting defender lacks sufficient game experience, his other options are not very convincing.

It will be quite risky for the Australian defense to play the ball out from the back on Tuesday. Don’t forget that you can check our World Cup 2022 fixtures Singapore time page for the complete schedule. Les Blues, the defending champions, are likely to dominate this matchup from the get-go and outscore Australia, with Mbappe contributing to his team’s goal tally.

Predictions

The Argentines will need to be patient in the first game of the competition since the Green Falcons are likely to play a conservative shell defense. However, Scaloni’s team has enough talented passers and creators to provide opportunities for Martinez to score.

Danish success at the World Cup peaked in 1998 when they reached the quarterfinals in France before losing to eventual champions Brazil. There’s no denying that Denmark is the best bet for success. It’s tough to think the Tunisians will be able to figure out the Danish defense and score on them.

There’s a good chance that Mexico and Poland will play to a draw in this game. Nonetheless, it would be great to see Poland win and advance beyond the group round. To make up for Mexico’s poor marking this past year, expect Lewandowski to dish out some serious punishment to the opposing team’s defense.

Lastly, the French team is loaded with talent and hopes to make history by being the first team to win back-to-back World Cups. Les Blues are ready to let loose Mbappe and Benzema, among their many other weapons. Group D would present Australia with a difficult challenge right off the bat.
