This temporary stadium, constructed from 974 recycled cargo containers and opening in November 2021, is also the international telephone calling number for Qatar. Over the course of the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, the stadium played host to five games, including a semifinal and the third-place match. After this winter's World Cup is over, the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium will be demolished and the materials recycled into a new waterfront facility for the neighborhood.
